Just recently, DFA released, Cover + Remix, a split 7" and digital single featuring Deerhunter and Calvinist (aka music critic Sasha Frere-Jones) covering a few songs by Athens, Georgia post-punk cult icons Pylon. (Yes, there were other bands from Athens, in 1980's, besides R.E.M. and the B-52's. Jeez.)
Anyways, check out the A-side, Deerhunter's excellent cover of Pylon's "Cool". Definitely a 'Song of the Year' candidate.
